Abstract

E-Waste has found to have adverse effects on the health of human beings. The article describes the harmful effects of E-Waste on the environment and living beings and how it is being dealt with. It also describes E-Waste recycling; the existing laws to regulate E-Waste and the issues faced by the developing nations.

Abstract

This paper presents an adaptive neural network, designed to improve the performance of conventional automatic landing systems (ALS). Real-time learning was applied to train the neural network using the gradient-descent of an error function to adaptively update weights. Adaptive learning rates were obtained through the analysis of Lyapunov stability to guarantee the convergence of learning. In addition, we applied a DSP controller using the VisSim/TI C2000 Rapid Prototyper to develop an embedded control system and establish on-line real-time control. Simulations show that the proposed control scheme has superior performance to conventional ALS under conditions of wind disturbance of up to 75 ft/s. Automatic aircraft landing operation, depends upon the proper functioning of various networks related to it. The safe landing of aircraft is very much important. This project deals with the detection of various obstructions related to safe landing. This is achieved by using automatic landing system through neural network, in corporation with embedded system. The sensor is used to sense the real altitude ,altitude rate and command signal. Any one of these signal is fed to the reference trajectory and other signal is fed to ARAN controller from the there the signal is fed to error comparator and other signal for error comparator comes from the reference trajectory, both the signals are compared and the difference in signal is pitch command signal that signal along with disturbance signal is given to aircraft model. If there is any changes found in aircraft model again the signal is fed to real altitude block for further comparison. The ARAN controller is used for varying the weights.

Abstract

In today's rapidly changing e-Learning environment, we do not have time to endure months of implementation to complete our mission-critical training initiatives. The application of information and communications technology to education and training, both in the corporate and public sectors is now big business on a global scale. It is however, an industry which is young and relatively immature. The rapid emergence of new technologies outpaces the ability of learning communities to apply the technological infrastructure in any systemic or sustainable fashion. E-learning communities are still grappling with significant pedagogical, cultural and business issues which are often under-estimated by the technologists. M-learning has now emerged as a new wave of development, based on the use of mobile devices combined with wireless infrastructure, and much of the current literature on M-learning reveals all the strengths and weaknesses associated with the more mature E-learning communities. There are, of course, close links between E-learning and M-learning and it can be argued that they represent a continuum based on the deployment of ever-more sophisticated technologies. For innovation to have an effect, however, there must be distribution channels that provide access to end-users. This is where connectivity comes in and why the Internet is different. In other media, such as print, radio, cinema, music and television, the companies who own the distribution channels (publishers, radio and television networks, film studios, and the recording industry) control the content.

Abstract

India is the world's largest market for automobiles. Latest new models with improved fuel efficiency and power ratings keep hitting the market off and on. Sadly, the security aspects of automobiles remains neglected. This fallibility inspired to devise a foolproof yet cost - effective security system to safeguard automobile against theft. Nowadays some of the automobiles come with remote controllers. However, no such facility is provided for normal automobiles. Such automobiles controllers are not available even in kit form. For long time, the need for car automation and auto control under various traffic and visibility conditions has been felt. Now the same have become possible through micro controller based intelligent system, which can do every thing the same as human being does. Automated machines are becoming more intelligent aided by micro electronics, sensors, microcontrollers and programmable software. In this project PIC microcontroller 16F877A as well as AT89C2051 are acting as a primary controller and the word "Intelligent Controller" will never be spelled out with out this kind of controllers .According that this project is not only mimics the entire thing that the normal human being has done but also it is acting as an intelligent controller. This automobile automation processor has enhanced features and can be easily customized to meet individual requirements as it is programmable. Its main features are the alarming system which enables to know, at the earliest when any unknown person opens the door of the car. These system responses automatically to the atmospheric conditions, actuating automatic wiper control and dipper light control. The entire process is interfaced with personal computer through RS232 to exploit the full features of automobile automation.

Abstract

One of the most rapidly developing areas of communications is Smart Antenna systems. This paper mainly concentrates on use of smart antennas in mobile communications that enhances the capabilities of the mobile and cellular system such a faster bit rate, multi- use interference, space division multiplexing (SDMA), increase in range, Multi path Mitigation and reduction of errors due to multi path fading and with one great advantage that is a very high security. The signal that is been transmitted by a smart antenna cannot be tracked or received by any other antenna thus ensuring a very high security of the data transmitted. This paper also deals the required algorithms that are needed for the beam forming in the antenna patterns.

Abstract

Many rural regions around the world do not have good connectivity solutions which are economically viable. As a result, many of these regions remain disconnected from both the rest of the world. As of Internet World Stats 2007, the Internet penetration in North America is 69.7% of the population compared to 10.7% in Asia and 3.6% in Africa primarily restricted to urban areas. The fundamental problem in connecting rural regions is economics. None of the traditional wire-line connectivity solutions (fiber, broadband and dial-up) are economically viable for such regions. Satellite networks provide great rural coverage but at very high costs: the ISP rate for 1 Mb/s of satellite connectivity in Africa exceeds $3000/month.

For This reasons, We will describe the paper of WiMAX based Rural Extensions (WiRE), a new wireless network architecture that can provide connectivity to rural regions at extremely low costs.
